RVs are a major investment.

When people think about the major investments, they have spent money on, first thought always goes to their house. Next, their car and then, oddly, they skip right over the RV sitting in their driveway and start talking about the kitchen remodel they just had done.  The logic goes something like this: an RV is for vacations, and vacation travel does not click in their brains as an investment.

And yet, paying $100,000 for a Class A or Class B is most definitely an investment, one which will serve you well for years to come if maintained properly.

In our minds, anything costing $100,000, or $50,000, is an investment which needs to be protected by good insurance and good security steps to protect it against all manner of problems.

Indoor RV storage units pros

The pros should be obvious.  RV storage units protect your RV against theft. They protect your RV against vandalism.  And, probably the most common problem, they protect your RV against the wrath of Mother Nature.

A secondary pro, related to the protection, is the fact that your RV resale value remains as high as possible when the RV is protected to the max.

Finally, if you want to tinker with your RV over the winter, and who doesn’t, you have a dry place to do so.

The cons

The first con worth mentioning is that of access.  When an RV is in storage, you can only access it during self storage  business hours.  But, without a doubt, the most common answer to the question of storage unit cons is cost.  The largest unit we have, for RV, is a 10’x30’, and that will cost you $180 as of the writing of this article, and $200 for a climate control self storage unit.  Although we know those prices are quite competitive and, in fact, fairly low for the self storage industry, we also recognize that many people cannot afford that kind of monthly payment in addition to all of their other overhead expenses.

We make no judgements here; as is often said, we don’t have a horse in this race, not touching us on a personal level.  The price is definitely worth considering, no matter how large an investment you have made. All we can do is share the facts and then step back and let you make the decision which is best for your situation.
