There are a number of trailer storage factors to consider when looking at storage facilities, and each one may, or may not, determine the quality of the storage you pay for. Let’s look at those factors and then, if you have further questions, you can call us at (817) 439-1380.
The first trailer storage factor to consider is . . .
It always comes down to cost, and for sure the monthly storage fee is important, but do not be duped into thinking the cost of your self storage is the only factor to consider. Leasing costs are pretty standard for trailer storage across the industry, so consider other factors before making a decision.
What about secure storage?
Check each storage facility to see if they have the following:
- 24 hour Surveillance Cameras
- Computer controlled gates
- Personalized Coded Gate Access (both in and out!)
- Storage access with passcode history recorded
And how accessible will your trailer be? The best prices for a storage unit are worthless to you if it is difficult to access your trailer. Are the aisles wide enough to maneuver in and out of the storage space? It is hard to put a price on this factor, but it is very important. Just ask any person who has had to struggle getting a trailer in and out of a space if this is important.
What kind of move-in specials are being offered?
Contrary to what some might think, move-in specials can vary from month to month. A move-in special in June may not be valid in August, so check first before signing on the dotted line.
Is there covered storage available?
Not all storage facilities are the same with regards to trailer storage. Some offer covered storage for trailers to protect them from the weather. Some do not. This may be important to you; it may not. Only you can decide on this factor.
And then we have a factor we like to call location suitability. How close is the storage facility to major highways and freeways? Usually, trailers are used for product transport. One does not want to be driving side-roads for a long time or distance in search of a freeway on-ramp. A storage facility near major roads is a very important factor to consider.
There are other factors, as well, but those are the main ones to consider. You can call us if you need to talk to an actual human being about these factors. Our number, again, is (817) 439-1380, and we are Blue Mound 287 Self Storage, serving a major portion of the Fort Worth area. We are locally owned and operated which is also a factor to consider. If you have a problem you don’t want to be discussing that problem with a disinterested employee in New York when your problem is in Fort Worth. We work and play in the area we serve, and that kind of personal care is important to our customers.
Trailer storage factors, other than price, are important. Make sure you search intelligently before choosing a storage facility.
